Dr. Wen Zengzhe

Dr. Wen Zengzhe has been practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for over twenty years. Fluent in both Chinese and English, he has been involved in introducing foreign students to TCM for over ten years. His areas of specialization include acupuncture, herbal medicine, Tuina massage and rehabilitation therapy. Dr. Wen sees himselves as a valuable bridge between Western and Chinese medical practitioners. He is actively involved in working with rural and minority populations to improve the standard of health care in remote areas of Yunnan and Southwest China and in preserving their indigenous systems of medicine.

Born in Beijing, Dr. Wen graduated from Kunming Medical College in 1983, where he was trained in Western medicine with a specialization in anesthesiology. He worked with western medicine for over ten years and continues to utilize both systems in his medical practice. He completed his TCM training at the Yunnan Traditional Medical College in 1989.

He received a consulting license in psychology from the Ministry of Labor and Personnel of China in 1999 and a teaching license for higher education from the Ministry of Education in 2000. He also holds an administration research license from the Administration Institute of China, which he received in 2004.

Dr. Wen worked an anesthesiologist at the Yunnan Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from 1983-94. From 1994 until 2003 he was the Director of the Anesthesia Department.

From 2003 until the present he has been an Associate Professor at the Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Yunnan and is currently the Director of the C-Bridge Consultancy Co. Ltd. of Kunming, which promotes cross-cultural exchange on medical issues and development between China and foreign countries and NGOs.
